ABOUT ME
I'm Charlotte, the founder and business owner of Family Fun Darlo Mum. I live in Darlington, County Durham with my husband, Stef and two young boys Kamron and Leo. I started sharing Family Venues and Events in Summer 2022 via social media on a group I created whilst on maternity leave. It was more initially as a hobby and to help other parents and carers, as well as supporting local businesses. I found that when looking for ideas myself that I would spend ages searching and often lose ideas/miss events as there was no central place with this info for my local area specifically Darlington and Teesside. Only for North East in general, and a lot of the smaller local businesses were often not seen.
My group grew extremely quickly with lots of positive feedback from the very beginning and it was clearly a well needed resource! This led to lots of appreciation from local businesses and clients and more businesses contacting me wanting to work with me to help spread the word. I have had amazing feedback and support from both clients and followers. With all the positivity around what I do, I decided to create a business page on Facebook and Instagram and write more of my own articles and reviews, as well as whats on guides creating regular work.
After a scary but well needed decision for many reasons, I left paid employment in the travel industry to focus on my family and own health and wellbeing whilst growing Family Fun Darlo Mum. I am lucky enough to say it has now been my full time business from late 2024 and I haven't looked back! As of today, I have over 11,000 organically gained followers by promoting my pages in a way that gains following and engagement from genuinely interested readers.
I am excited for the future, inspiring families to enjoy family time no matter their budget, and helping to support businesses of all sizes, whilst growing my own. Thanks so much for all your support whether its leaving a positive comment or reaction, giving me tips and feedback or working with me as a client. It is all hugely appreciated.
