About Me
I'm Charlotte, the founder and business owner of Family Fun Darlo Mum. I live in Darlington, County Durham with my husband, Stef and two boys Kamron and Leo. I started sharing Family Venues and Events in Summer 2022 via social media on a group I created whilst on maternity leave. It was more initially as a hobby and to help other parents and carers, as well as supporting local businesses. I found that when looking for ideas myself that I would spend ages searching as there was no central place to look as such for local areas specifically like Darlington and Teesside. Only for North East in general, so a lot of the smaller local businesses were often not seen.
My group grew extremely quickly with lot of positive feedback from the very beginning and it was clearly well needed! This led to lots of appreciation from local businesses and clients and more businesses contacting me wanting to work with me to help spread the word. I have had amazing feedback from both clients and followers. With all the positivity and success, I decided to create a business page on Facebook and write more of my own articles and reviews, as well as whats on guides.
In 2024 I made a big decision, after ongoing struggles to balance my responsibilities at home and stayed focused at work, I decided to leave my full time career as a Travel Advisor. Working in sales and customer service for other companies is something I have done my entire adult life so to leave this was very scary! I wasn't 100% sure if being fully self employed would work for me but it has!
Family Fun Darlo Mum has now been my full time business from late 2024 and I haven't looked back! It has given me the freedom to work my own hours and have more flexibility so that I can work with clients when needed, explore new places to share whilst also managing my parental and caring responsibilities, and looking after myself too!
I am excited for the future, inspiring families and helping supporting other businesses whilst growing my own. Thanks so much for all your support whether its leaving a positive comment or reaction, giving me tips and feedback or working with me as a client. It is all hugely appreciated.
