Ad-Gifted Visit. This event was attended by a guest reviewer in July 2023.
Jurassic Take Over Day is a brand new event taking place in the North of England. As described by the event organiser it is 'A unique dinosaur adventure and the UK’s only interactive walkthrough and performance experience'
Here is what my guest reviewer thought of this event. The event took place at First Direct Arena in Leeds, but future events could be at different venues.
🚘ARRIVAL AND PARKING🚙
We parked at the most convenient car park we could find nearby which was Citi Park Merrion Centre (LS2 8BT). This was just a short walk from the venue (around 5 minutes) with plenty of spaces. The parking cost us £6 for 3 hours. The event was 90 minutes long so this was more than enough time. You could also get the train but it would be around a 20 minute walk through the city centre. This may be a good option if spending the day in Leeds.
The customer service on arrival and throughout was great and the event staff were very helpful. We were lucky enough to get asked go in to the sky vip area (a few others were asked so this wasn't special treatment for the review). It was a lovely added extra to experience this. Again the staff were really friendly and walked us around, opened the doors and just generally were very hospitable. In the VIP area you could get glitter tattoos applied, there was lovely seating to relax at and booths to sit in with a bar area to buy drinks too.
♿️ACCESSIBILITY, TOILETS AND BABY CHANGING 👶
In the venue itself the toilets were lovely and clean, and lots of toilets available so no queuing. There was also disabled and baby changing facilities available too.
There was a seperate entrance to the venue for disabled guests.
The stage area was all on one floor with some seating at the front which was level access and there was plenty of room infront of the stage for pushchairs, scooters or wheelchairs etc although it did get busy on the floor area with people and the interactive elements with the dinosaurs.
I would say both this venue and event were accessible for wheelchair users and pushchairs.
🦕THE MAIN EVENT🦖
The floor in the stage area was used for dinosaurs to walk and run around interacting with guests and although you were given seat numbers it seemed you could just sit anywhere. I would advise if you wanted to sit near the front to get there early. This isn't necessary though as you can see clearly from all areas and it was very interactive within the room so nobody missed out.
As well as the dinosaurs running around on the floor area and interacting as well as on the stage there were lots of set ups around the room for photo opportunities and also in the corridors of the venue leading up to the stage area.
The dinosaurs freely ran around which was great fun and very interactive. I would recommend staying close to your child as the dinosaurs do run around quite a lot and it can be easy for kids to get knocked over if they aren't watching. This is part of the atmosphere and fun though so it didn't seem to worry people. Everyone seemed to loved it!
🍕FOOD AND DRINK 🍔
In the venue there were a couple of options for food, snacks and drink. Mostly fast food options like burgers, pizzas and fresh popcorn. There were a few meal deal options available. We brought our own snacks so can't comment on the quality of the food.
💭SUMMARY💭
To summarise this is what my guest reviewer thought
'Such a rawsome day! Very interactive with realistic dinosaurs. Exciting, unpredictable and just a great family fun day out!'
