This write up is based on a visit in February 2023. We have visited many times since. All information last checked over in April 2026.

It’s set on the site of a former railway. At the time of writing this, the kids who came with us were aged 8 months, 1, 3, 6 and 13.

They all enjoyed it. There’s a good variety of play equipment for different ages, a tearoom, toilets including disabled and baby changing and plenty of free parking. As well as cycling and walking routes too.

There are surfaced paths throughout the play areas and the walking routes so it is wheelchair and pushchair friendly, and there’s also plenty of benches and picnic tables to sit down/enjoy a picnic.

🚘 It’s approximately 20 minutes drive from Darlington.

🕚 Open 8am-5pm during Winter and 8am-9pm in Summer.

☕️ The tearoom was open 10am-3pm when we visited, this may differ between seasons.
